Northwest Mosaics

As a lifelong resident of Oregon, the Pacific Northwest influences both my life and my art. I get most of my inspiration in the early morning hours while I am still trying to sleep. I jump up and write my ideas down for fear of forgetting them. This fountain of inspiration yields wonderful ideas that I can only hope to live long enough to create.

I had the honor to work with other mosaic artists on a mosaic mural titled “A Street In Time” located in Toledo, Oregon at City Hall. It boasts being the largest mosaic mural in the Pacific Northwest, measuring 93 feet long!

Several of my mosaics were included in the “Mosaic Yearbook 2005”, released in February 2006 and in Mosaic Art 2 (Mosaic Yearbook 2006). Mosaic Art 3 (2007) contains two of my pieces. All three are available for purchase on CD.

I was also truly honored to have had my work chosen for an international collective installation, designed by Jean “Juanito” Destrade, titled, “Concert d’elcats” or rather, “Shards Concert, Matter of Dreams”, depicted the cosmos. The finished mural lines the halls of the Mosaic Institute in Montpellier, France and was unveiled in September 2007.

I am currently involved in another international collective mosaic. This one is a tribute to Steve Irwin. It will be installed at the Australia Zoo. Many wonderfully talented artists have answered the call, so it should be one spectacular mosaic when it’s finished!
